SPRING WATERCOLOR TOPICS, Intermediate and Advanced Watercolor(Pedersen, Spring 2010
Sharpen your watercolor skills on landscape topics appropriate to this spring season. Through a series of demonstrations, Jim will share his techniques and encourage your own creative approach to the painting process. Topics this session feature summer trees , creeks, white water, lakes and the beach. Bring your regular art kit and include two 15x22” sheets of cold pressed or rough 140 pound watercolor paper to the first class.

Marble and the High Country
Plein Air Watercolor Workshop with Jim Pedersen, September 15th--19th, 2010--One space available(Sept. 3)
Paint and explore the vaulting Mountains and Valleys along the Crystal River from Marble to Redstone , Colorado. We will be staying at the Chair Mountain Ranch, halfway between Marble and Redstone, and will be ideally situated to enjoy and paint the vibrant fall high country. ADVANCED WATERCOLOR: Shadows, the Artist’s Friend. Details to be announced.
This structured class is for the advanced and intermediate watercolor painter. Shadows are often the most interesting and colorful shapes in a landscape painting. They transcend subject matter and can link disparate design element. Shadows are malleable and can be adjusted to improve the design that nature provides. Jim will demonstrate the watercvolor techniques and design considerations appropriate to the exploration of landscape shadows. Specific topics include still-life, mountain, trees and structural shadows. If your paintings are bogged down in static and common shapes, this is the class for you .
